Uh, drink reviews?! Anyone that knows me knows that I love drinks. It doesn’t matter if it’s a soda, energy drink or the latest sports drink; I’m gonna try it, if I can get my hands on it. The other day @timdorr posted on Twitter that his office was right down the hall from a company called Whynatte. With a name like that I had to look it up and it turns out its a company in Atlanta that has developed a new coffee drink that this distribute in 8oz cans in the Atlanta area (and some other parts of the US)

After talking with the CEO of the company, it got me really thinking… “There really are alot of coffee drinks out there these days!” - After looking at some older copies of Beverage Digest I kept seeing the energy drink coffee market go through the roof! In some of the much older issues there were months that RTD (ready to drink) coffee energy saw sales go up as much as 2,000% (no wonder these ATL friends went into business.

So, I decided to review a few of the coffee energy drink brands that I normally buy or have seen on the market around Georgia. I hope you enjoy!

Whynatte Latte

This is a wonder drink that I just received in the mail today! My first thought was “wait.. 8oz? That’s not enough coffee for me but when you compare (1) quality (2) ingredients (3) taste you can’t go wrong with this drink!

Whynatte has a very natural coffee taste but with a small kick of chocolate. The best part of this energy/coffee drink is that you can’t taste the energy. I’ve had many coffee drinks that you tasted more energy than you did coffee. It goes down smooth and is VERY refreshing. Oh, and did I mention that they use real sugar and contains milk that has not artificial hormones - aka - great quality!

Whynatte includes 1,000mg of taurine, 175mg of L-Carnitine, 100mg of Ginseng, 90mg of caffeine and 25mg of Guarana.

Full Throttle

Ah, yes. Full Throttle. This is one of the newer players in the coffee drink game. I personally think that they did a great job with developing in these drinks; while some think differently. Full Throttle also uses sugar in the place of HFCS.

The Full Throttle Mocha drink has a great smooth taste but I really couldn’t taste the coffee. It tasted like a chocolate energy drink. That’s not what we’re shooting for here! The experience that I expect from drinking a coffee/energy drink is a great coffee taste with a kick.

Full Throttle contains 1,134mg of Taurine, 168mg of Ginseng, 27mg of Carntine and 131mg of caffeine. (this is a 15oz can)

More reviews coming later…
I’ve got tons of other drinks sitting here but I think that I’ll get sick if I try too many drinks, so check back of the next few days and I’ll have some more reviews! Sorry guys…
